Portable, universal, and clever USB charger for iPhone and iPod touch

We’ve been pretty impressed with the iPhone’s battery life, but still, with battery life there is no such thing as “long enough”. Thank goodness for the new Powerstick mobile device charger which is our new favorite accessory for iPhone and iPod touch. The Powerstick is a universal USB charger that fills with power via any USB device. It provides charging to power deficient mobile devices the same way, just plug it into a USB port and let it transfer the power back into the mobile device. At $69.95 it seems a little pricey just for a charger, but after you dig into the Powerstick’s specs, you’ll realize it’s worth every cent.

Save battery power with low light mode

The iPhone has a hidden light sensor located just above the ear piece. If this sensor detects low lighting, it will put the phone into a dim-light display mode. More light in the room will cause the iPhone to go into a full brightness mode. Use this sensor to your advantage by covering the sensor as you unlock the iPhone. This will put the iPhone into a low light mode saving you battery power. You can also do this manually in the iPhone settings, but it takes a lot longer to tap and navigate to the brightness slider in the iPhone’s settings.

Conserve battery power

Get the most time out of your iPhone battery charge by turning off wi-fi connect when you don’t need it. This iPhone tip will save you a lot of battery power so you don’t have to recharge as often. Very handy, especially when traveling.
