China Reaches Over 1 Billion Smartphone Subscribers

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released statistics that show China has surpassed the one billion mark in subscribers. This is a huge point for China and it’s so enermous that even over 70% of the population are subscribers.

iOS 5.1 A4 Jailbreak Confirmed By pod2g

pod2g has confirmed via Twitter that there is indeed a iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak. The jailbreak will only work for A4 devices which would allow for more iOS 5.1 devices to be untethered.

Spotify has finally been released for iOS. If you didn’t know what Spotify was it is a legal music streaming application with many other features alongside it. It’s free to download but the premium does cost money but it available for trial.

Oracle Releases Java Development Kit and JavaFX Dev Kit For Mac OS

Oracle has finally released a Java Development Kit and JavaFX Development Kit for Mac OS X. This is the first release and, of course, is free.

Java developers can now download Oracle’s JDK, which includes the JavaFX SDK, for Mac OS X from the Oracle Technology Network (OTN).
Oracle plans to release a consumer version of Java SE 7, including the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for Mac OS X later in 2012.

Apple TV To Include EPIX To Provide A-List Movie Streaming

Reuters sources reports that Apple’s rumored HDTV will include EPIX streaming to provide movies from three major movie companies.

Apple, which now sells a $99 set-top box that hooks up to a television set and lets users stream online content from Netflix and the MLB channel, opened discussions with three-year-old EPIX, created by Lions Gate Entertainment Corp, MGM and Viacom’s Paramount Pictures.

Google’s Cloud Service, Drive, Announced

Google has just announced their own cloud service to the public. The Google Drive will offer 5GB storage which is more than Dropbox but meager compared to Microsoft’s SkyDrive (25GB).
