iSee, a new contoured crystal-clear case for the iPhone
iSee is built to defend and display the iPhone, providing superior protection while showcasing the phone itself. The iSee features a sleek, strong protective shell, and in or out of its coordinating holster, it offers security and accessibility to all connections and controls, including the touch screen. And the case/holster combination is completely flexible: allowing the iPhone to sit in forward, backward, horizontal or vertical positions. The Contour iSee for iPhone is priced at US$29.95.

The iSee is hardly new; it launched right along with the iPhone, and I’ve been using it for as long as I’ve had my phone. The upside: the case does a great job of protecting the phone. I’ve dropped my phone onto concrete at least half a dozen times, and the case has protected it every time. The downside: most of those times, it had fallen out of the iSee’s holster. This is the most abysmal holster I’ve ever used. The hinge doesn’t come in contact with the body, so it falls off your belt. The holster doesn’t hold the case in securely, so the iPhone falls easily out of the holster. I was in a tough spot for a while, because I didn’t want to give up the protection of the shell, but I could no longer abide the holster.
I happened to purchase an AWP tool belt that came with a cell phone holster. I harvested the cell phone holster and it fits the iPhone + iSee case perfectly. The best part is that, since it was designed to sit vertically on a shoulder strap, it sits horizontally on my belt.
Despite the holster problems, do you recommend iSee? I am considering a case for my iPhone and this one does look pretty good, although the holster could bug me to no end.
