Is iTunes deleting your ringtones?

We are getting reports from iPhone users that the latest version of iTunes (v7.4) is deleting ringtones that were not purchased through the iTunes Store. This includes ringtones created with iToner, SendSong, iFuntastic, iPhoneRingtoneMaker, and iBrickr. Steve Jobs really wants that extra 99 cents for each ringtone!

Is this happening to you? If so, let us know.

Hmmmm… Maybe I just won’t upgrade my iTunes until somebody comes up with a hack for this.

I hope the folks that make these third party apps are working on circumventing this permanently. How annoying will it be to have your ringtone library wiped with each new iTunes version?
