iPhone News Roundup - Out of stock now, 3G in 3 weeks, global domination

iPhone global domination iRisk

The past seven days have given us a lot to chew on. First, we hear about Apple’s plan to get the iPhone into more countries across the globe which brings its iPhone sales goal for the year clearly into the crosshairs. Then we get reports of customers who are unable to buy iPhones at any online outlet, and retail stores soon follow. Where are the iPhones going? Analysts see right through Apple’s ruse and claim a new improved iPhone is looming near. Will the 3G iPhone be available soon? It will, and in less than three weeks from today!

Read on to learn all about these latest breaking iPhone news stories.

iPhones disappear online, retail stores will follow
Apple is holding back its coveted stock of next generation iPhones until June, rumored to have high-speed internet access. Online stores have run out of iPhone inventory, a sign that analysts say points to a new device hitting the market soon. RIM rushed the 3G BlackBerry Bold out the door last week in a bold (and desperate?) attempt to prevent customers from getting lured into waiting for the 3G iPhone in June.

Only 3 weeks to 3G!
Gizmodo reports this morning that an inside source has confirmed the release date of the much anticipated 3G iPhone (aka iPhone 2.0) is set to coincide with Apple’s keynote speech on June 9th at the WWDC. This rumor has been swirling around for weeks now, fueling speculation that Apple will hit their goal this year of 10 million units sold.

10 million iPhones this year? Swish!
In addition to 3G iPhone news, Apple’s plan for global iPhone domination reinforces the speculation that Apple will blow away sales forecasts that put the total number of units sold at over 10 million by the end of 2008.
