You can easily set up your iPhone with a prepaid account, totally by-passing the 2-year minimum contract with AT&T. Simply enter bogus credit card information in the iPhone activation form within iTunes. You will need to do this three times. After the third time iTunes will tell you that your credit card failed and then offer you activation with a prepaid account.
