As of this week, you can now order Domino’s Pizza right from your iPhone and iPod touch. Perfect for football fans who don’t want to miss a single play while ordering pizza.
The Domino’s mobile ordering application is an iPhone optimized web app, which means there’s no pecking around in the App Store and no installation required. You simply point your mobile Safari to Dominos.com where you will be served up an ordering system designed specifically for your iPhone or iPod touch. Once at the home page, you’ll definitely want to tap the “+” sign and “Add to Home Screen” which will put a Domino’s icon right on your iPhone for faster ordering next time.

A Slick Interface
The Domino’s iPhone app sports an interface that’s as slick as any mobile web app that we’ve seen. The menus are easy to read and very intuitive. Conveniently, the designers made the global navigation available from any screen. When you tap the “Nav” button (upper right), the global navigation appears on an overlay so you don’t lose your place in the ordering process if you need to switch views. That is a great touch.
Set Your Address First
The very first thing you’ll want to do, and please do this before the football game, is to set your delivery address. You can do this from the “Nav” button or just by starting the ordering process for the first time. This requires you to do some tapping so do it from a desktop browser (also by going to dominos.com), or by tapping through it on your iPhone. This will save your address and you won’t have to do that during any future games.
If your address is not within a Domino’s delivery area, you can choose to order take out. After submitting your address, the app will alert you that you cannot get delivery, but then offer a list of the nearest Domino’s stores. Tapping on one of the stores listed here will let you place an order for take out.
Create and Order Your Pizza
You create an order by tapping “Express Ordering” or “Create Your Own Pizza”. The express option contains the most popular pizzas so you can make a selection with a single tap. The create option lets you customize your pizza with own selection of size and toppings. Other ordering options are also available such as specialty pizzas, sandwiches, pasta, drinks and desserts. The food menu offers pretty much everything you’d find in any Domino’s Pizza store and one very handy way of saving money on your order.
Domino’s knows that there is one common element to almost all delivery orders, the coupon, and they have not left it out of this app. The app has an entire list of coupons you can add to your order, and it has sorted them into categories based on how many people you are feeding. This is a terrific feature, much easier than reading one those door hangers with all the coupons, selecting one, and clipping it. Using a coupon on this app requires a single tap and it will be automatically applied to your order. So simple.
Other notable features of this web app include a pizza tracker so you can track the progress of your pizza. Domino’s dropped the 30-minute guarantee long ago, but at least now you can see where your pizza is in the process. The “Pizza Tracker” feature is available after you place your order. You can also opt to have an SMS message sent to you to confirm that your pizza order has been placed and is now being prepared.

I noticed this was back from September of 2009, but since there aren’t any comments, care if I chip in my story if that giftcard is still around?
We order from Domino’s a lot, and when I say that, I mean A LOT. It’s the only place around here that actually delivers to where we live. Now that they have a way to order easily on an iPhone, it’s absolutely fantastic.
I actually just tried it for the first time today and I must say it is a lot easier. Now I can order on the go and pick it up (I could call, but what’s the fun in that?). I can even order without leaving the couch and have them deliver it. It’s great!
I absolutely love the new mobile page. Great job Domino’s!!
