Wow, things are happening so quickly. It’s only been a week since Apple officially released the iPhone SDK and already we are getting reports of new hacks and apps for iPhone 2.0 before it’s even here. Nobody is sure how the application landscape will look in June when the App Store opens for business, but one thing is certain, it will be interesting to say the least. Read on to find out about the latest news on the SDK downloads, iPhone hackers, and games slated to appear on an iPhone or iPod touch near you.

  • In less than one week after Apple releases the iPhone SDK, downloads of the SDK top 100,000. Prepare for an onslaught of native apps for iPhone and iPod touch in June.
  • In less than one day after hackers get their hands on the SDK they successfully unlock AND jailbreak iPhone 2.0. What will this do to the App Store in June? Will Jailbreaks apps continue to flourish?
  • In less than one hour before we publish this post, more game developers join the SDK party to create games for the iPhone and iPod touch. PopCap, Namco, and THQ will deliver great classics like, Bejewelled, Pacman, Zuma, Peggle, and Galaga. Now if we could only convince the Brothers Chap to bring Peasant’s Quest to the iPhone…
