iPhone & iPod touch hack – adding 3rd party apps
The iPod touch will have most of the same native apps as its talkative big brother, the iPhone. And those apps it won’t ship with will most likely be available from 3rd parties. So how do you add these to your iPod touch without having hacking skills or touching the terminal? Use AppTapp, the same graphical tool for adding 3rd party apps to the iPhone. It does everything for you. Just download AppTapp to your Mac desktop and run it. Then select your iPhone firmware version, and let it do its thing. You will then see the new AppTapp icon on your home screen. Touch the icon and the AppTapp will connect to the internet to fetch the list of available apps. iPod touch users, be sure you are on a wi-fi network before running AppTapp from your device.

RUMOR – Teenager claims to have an easy iPod Touch jailbreak. iJailbreak, an automated program that allows third-party applications to run on the iPod Touch, doesn’t work for the iPhone, and is only available for iPod Touch owners that are using Intel-based Macs. This hack does NOT work for iPod touch, nor does it work for iPhone. With this, or any other 3rd party app tool, please remember that if your firmware is not supported, do not try to do an install. Hackers are working on a new hack that will work with the latest firmware update and they had a major breakthrough last night. Has anyone tested this with an iPod Touch?
current AppTapp only shows iPhone firmwares and not iPod Touch.. so I don’t htink it will work.

Yes, looks like they have to update their apps to work with the iPod touch’s 1.1 firmware. We’ll have to wait and see if Apple keeps the firmware different or the same (more or less).

Ok even if there comes a hack for the ipod touch sooner or later they will make it – 2 weeks later Apple closes the door again with a new update and it’s keeping a back and forth… what a hazzle!
Nokia just made a great statement and a brave step towards 3rd party applications. It’s open for all and not just for hacker nerds. I actually wanted to buy the iPod touch and I love Apple Computers (have a Macbook Pro) but I’m fedup with their stupid policy that treats us consumers like little children. Right now I’m looking for alternatives:

I know it’s not the latest device but there are several anouncements that they comeup with a new device on 2nd November that might even be an better alternative to the iPod touch. I will definetly wait.
Eventhough I like Apple but I have to admit you’re right. I think I have to give up my dreams about an iPod touch without being patronized and wait for an alternative

Just looking… I s there any hack yet for Ipod Touch with latest apple upgrade (1.1.2) do I relly have to down grade? I think apple disabling all this stuff sucks. Its my first time touching anything apple and already I feel gyped as I truly expected to be able to use this screen to read. And what ever happened to the games? Why should I ned to access online apps to play games? the Ipod Nano plays them out of the box! This is supposed to be the upgrade! Except for the touch screen (sweet)which can quickly loose its cool, I am feeling a little behind… Imagine, the Nano with a tiny screen – you can read ebooks, etc and yet on the touch nothing! How is this possible or even logical? Who thinks up this stuff? Did they HAVE to disable so much stuff?
As for the internet option, hotspots are sometimes few and far between and you need this stuff to work independent of the internet! As for the Itunes music store, does Apple REALLY NEEED to look like acheap salesman with all the signs pointing to sales I aleady feel like I am renting! NOT a good feeling!
nothing happens once i go into jailbrekeme.com i go in and press install but it takes me 2 another page and nothing happens to my i-pod touch
If you guys weren’t retards, you would have figured out by now that all you have to do to jailbreak is downgrade to the 1.1.1 firmware, go to http://www.jailbreakme.com/, scroll down to the bottom, click install appsnap, and then you’ll have installer on the home screen of your iPod touch.

If there is a blue box in the top left part of the screen, that means it is already jailbroken or you have 1.1.2 or higher firmware.

hey josh thats how i jailbroke mine.. i did it a while back it works perfectly fine luv my ipod now i have pool, guitar hero, nintendo games, all this other neat stuff… but before i tried that hack i did another one somehow it crashed my ipod!! it left it with only 300mb!!!! i was pist! but somehow i managed to fix it lol.. so i have to say going to jailbreakme.com was the easiest!!

In this one, you click once the button that says JAILBREAK and it will do it in one shot! MUST READ IF HAVEING PROBLEMS ADDING INSTALLER TO 1.1.4 IPOD TOUCH.
at 1st i was scared i would uck up my ipod cause you not really ment to add 3rd party apps. but i decided to try it last night and i mush say i got about 4 hours sleep i was so excided it worked.
1) download ziphone for windows.
2) run ziphone. **hint** when you try and open it a black screen shows up. this is good just wait i second and it will start to load. it will run through the program by itself.
3) it will tell you to put your ipod in recovery mode. just do it… worst case you use itunes to restore.
4) in about 2-3 mins you will have a ipod touch with installer. have funXD
** warning about keyboard apps dont download them as tempting as they may seem. it’s a nearly impossible to remove.
