iPhone and iPod touch join the indie music scene

OurStage is a web site that lets the fans rank indie music artists. Now iPhone and iPod touch users can visit the site and stream any of the top songs. Just point Safari to ourstage.com to access the custom interface, which uses Quicktime to stream the music. Artists upload the songs, which users then judge. The results are displayed on lists of top songs which are continuously updated.
The top songs are then listed on the site, and two $5,000 prizes are given to the top artists each month. In addition to cash prizes, artists can also gain media exposure and gigs. Users can also purchase any song as an unrestricted MP3 for $.99. Artists currently receive 100% of the proceeds, but OurStage will be taking a transaction fee starting next year. OurStage also offers the same platform for indie film makers that allows the fans to view and rank movies and videos.

Have you actually had any luck with that site on the iPod Touch? I just get the regular site and that is all flash, which of course won’t work…
Martin, try going directly to: ourstage.com/iphone
It seems that it detects the iphone and redirects it appropriately, but oddly they don’t detect the ‘touch.
I’m afraid that only gets me a File not found page… Tried both ourstage.com/iphone and ourstage.com/iphone/
There’s also not any iphone.ourstage.com …
Seems like it will only trigger with the right user agent and it doesn’t fuzz it enough to see the iPod Touch as more or less the same device…
