Give your iPhone or iPod touch a HUG for the holidays, then pass it on

Hugs

Now here’s something you just don’t see every day. The web developers over at Carsonified (the UK company behind DropSend and Vitamin) have traded their computers for sewing machines this holiday season to create Hugs for iPhones.

Hugs are one-off, limited edition sleeves for the iPhone and iPod touch. There are several designs to choose from and they come with a matching cozy for your MacBook Pro. You can’t buy a Hug, they are not for sale. But here’s how you can get one.

Hugs are beautifully hand-crafted and delivered in custom boxes along with a Certificate of Origin and moleskin journal. The journal is very important because after one month of using your Hug, you pass it on to another deserving iPhone. Before you do, use the journal to record a little about yourself, what you do, where you live, what you love… then pass it on.

If you think your device deserves a Hug, go to HugMyMac.com and tell them why. You have until the 13th of December at midnight GMT to plead your case. And while you are at the site, be sure to read the interesting story of how idea of creating Hugs came to be reality. It is truly heartwarming to see a tech company stop coding for a week to do something so unique.

We gave ourselves the challenge of dreaming up, making and then launching a project within one week, and Hugs - a range of covers for MacBook Pros and iPhones - are the result!
