Get discounts at nearby retailers with mobile coupons

Mobile coupons for iPhone

Here’s a great idea we think has some serious legs. Location-based discovery application, Outalot, is going to use the iPhone to geo-target coupons to consumers based on their current location and preference. So let’s say you want Thai food, you tap your food preference into Outalot which then locates all the Thai restaurants nearby your current location, then displays discount offers for you in the form of digital coupons. These coupon codes are redeemed at the point of sale right on the iPhone.

When you request a coupon, it is delivered directly to your iPhone. This kind of targeting is a dream for local retailers looking to find new customers and increase revenue. The ability to reach local customers with targeted offers based on their spending intent is the pot of gold for direct marketers. This is enabled with personalization, geo-targeting, and location-based technology provided by Outalot and 8coupons, a provider of mobile coupons to the NYC area.

Outalot is partnering with 8coupons to provide this value-add service, and yesterday, they rolled it out to mobile users in New York. Outalot plans to expand this service to additional markets starting early next year. If you live in New York, let us know how you like this new service from Outalot and 8coupons. The rest of us will eagerly wait until next year to try it out.

    Hello all,

If you are into mobile coupons, you should check out Yowza! It’s now the third most popular app in the lifestyle section of the app store, and is currently working with Dairy Queen, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sports Authority, and a bunch of local shops and restaurants.

The brochure is available at http://www.retailsmartguys.com/Yowza.pdf.

Right now, it’s super cheap for retailers to get involved. The pricing is in the brochure.
