I take a lot of pics with my iPhone and I hate it when iphoto opens up on my Mac when I sync. Good thing there’s a way to use AppleScript to prevent this from happening. The script will allow iPhoto to open for your digital camera, but not the iPhone. Read this tutorial to learn how.

I read your post about Texterity, a great site for reading free magazines on the iPhone and iPod touch. I’ve been using it a lot, so thanks for that. I also discovered Zinio recently. The magazine reader is very nice and I thought your readers might like to check it out.

Turn your iPhone into a portable voice recorder with this cool iPhone Voice Memo application. I used it for capturing ideas and reminders. It’s a bookmarklet so there’s nothing to download. You simply bookmark it in Safari and you can use it any time.
To get started using it:
- Open Safari on your iPhone.
- Browse to http://handheldcreations.com/iphone/myvox/start.html.
- Configure the app by entering your phone number.
- When it tells you to do so, bookmark the page onto your phone’s Home Screen.
Now, whenever you want to make a voice recording, just click the Voice Memo icon on your iPhone, then click New Memo.

Turn your iPhone into a remote touchpad for your computer. I’ve got a jailbroken iPod and turned it into a remove touchpad for my pc using this application called “touchpad for iphone”. Yes, it does work for the ipod touch as well, I have it on mine.

Photography is my hobby, but the iPhone’s built-in camera leaves a lot to be desired for taking quality pictures. However, I do have fun modifying the lens in ways that make iPhone photography more interesting. Here are a few ways I have modded my iPhone.
- Turn your iPhone into a magnifying lens
- Make your own macro lens mod
- A snap-on a wide angle lens

To copy music from iPod to your iTunes, download ipodRIP to your computer. Plug in your ipod but be certain NOT to sync it with itunes. In IpodRip, click ‘restore all’ or similar and wait for your music to re-import to itunes. This will take a while, but it’s the easiest way.
