The Holiday Music iPhone app comes pre-configured with playlists that group the music by genre, and there’s a lot of playlists to choose from. You’ll find pop, country, rock, instrumental, classical, hip-hop, R&B, and many more. There’s something for everyone in here. Got a favorite holiday song? Chances are you’ll find it in the Holiday Music app.
The Holiday Music iPhone app works like a web radio station which means you have to be connected to Wi-Fi, Edge, or 3G in order to hear the music which then streams to your iPhone or iPod touch from the internet. All of the songs are the original recordings, not re-recorded elevator versions. It’s like having a perpetual, commercial free music station that plays nothing but holiday music all day, all night.
There are a few caveats with this app. First, as we said, you have to be connected to the internet to listen to the music. In addition, you can’t select any particular song to listen to. You must select the playlist from which that song belongs, then fast forward until you hear it. Also, songs sometimes take a moment to load so there’s a little pause in between the music. All in all, these are pretty minor nuisances for an app that delivers so much holiday cheer for so little a price.
