The combination of these two subjects into a single, glossy magazine has become one of the most anticipated publications each year, with each new release focused more on the bikinis than the sports. With the SI Swimsuit 2009 iPhone app, Sports Illustrated deftly brings the sports back to the sexy.

First, let’s start with the sexy. This app features regularly updated photos and videos of over 20 SI swimsuit models which restricts this App Store download to mature audiences of 17+.

The app delivers your sports fix in the form of an interactive calendar in which you can add up to 6 of your favorite pro or college teams. The calendar will then track those teams’ schedules and display the final scores. You can also customize your calendar by selecting which bikini model you want to look at for each month. Team schedules and scores will only be available on the calendar until February 28th, 2010, but the girls will hang around forever.

For $2.99, this app is worth it just for the calendar. The photos and videos are a lovely bonus feature, indeed. Now available in the App Store.
