Become an iPhone developer with this free starter guide

O’Reilly author, Wei-Meng Lee, has a message for all you budding iPhone developers who haven’t taken the plunge yet. Wei-Meng wants you to know that getting started is a lot easier than you think. To prove it, he has written a free PDF document, Getting Started with iPhone, that will get you on your way to making big bucks in the App Store.
The guide covers everything you need to get started with Apple’s iPhone SDK, setting up your work environment, building the UI of your app, testing your app with the iPhone simulator, creating controls, invoking the keyboard, and much, much more. The document then takes you through a step-by-step tutorial to create your first native iPhone application, Hello World (of course!).
The guide is written for the layman and will have most everyone well on their way to making more complex and creative applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. Hopefully, this won’t spark a flurry of gold diggers submitting more beer, lighter, and fart apps, because quite frankly, we’ve seen our fill of those silly things. Got an idea for the next killer iPhone app? Go get the eDoc, Getting Started with iPhone, and see how quickly you can develop your own apps.
