Is that a yule log in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? (yeah, we went there)

iYule the yule log for your iPhone and iPod touch

Get your warm and fuzzies going this holiday season with iYule, the yule log you can take anywhere on your iPhone or iPod touch. This 30-minute video of crackling fire is accompanied by a lovely, original score by Geoff Smith. The iYule video is formatted for wide or standard screens, and there are versions available for your computer or Apple TV as well. The iPhone and iPod touch version is $5 US, but before you go searching for a bittorrent like the Grinch, just remember that a portion of each sale goes to charity, so fork up.

An iPhone case with a 2-way stand and holster

Titan Clear iPhone Case

If you are looking to purchase an iPhone case this holiday season, you may want to hold off just a bit longer. You will need SSH on your laptop but since that is platform independent this tip should work on Mac, Linux, or PC.

Play classic games from LucasArts on your iPhone and iPod touch

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

This item is making the rounds on the tech blogs this morning and is making a stop here at Touchtip. Why all the repetition, you ask? That’s like asking, “Why are they making yet another Indiana Jones sequel?“, or “Why did George Lucas have to make Ewoks - The Battle of Endor?” Why? Because a good story doesn’t die. Okay, so maybe the Ewoks should die, but still… a good story, like a good video game, should never end. And now, thanks to ScummVM, we can relive all those classic LucasArts games on our iPhones and iPod touches running true, native emulation.

Your tips - Open links in new tabs with Tabulate

Tabulate

With Tabulate, iPhone and iPod touch users can now enjoy the convenience of ‘open in new tab’ in Safari.

Tabulate is a bookmarklet so you don’t have to hack your device to make it work. You simply add a link to your Safari bookmarks on your desktop computer, then sync iTunes (be sure your iTunes is configured to sync bookmarks). Then, when you’re browsing a page withinteresting links on it, just tap Tabulate from your list of bookmarks. This brings up a floating bar with three options to open the link in the current tab, open it in a new tab, or flag the link for later viewing. Very handy!
